GÜNER KÜNIER erzählt Geschichten von unterschiedlichen Polen, von unterschiedlichen Enden derselben Geschichten. Oft geht es um Emanzipation, um Liebe, um Autonomie. Sie bedient sich sattsam an Postpunkelemente, die wiederum auf Riot Grrrl Zitate treffen und auch Krautrockanleihen nicht scheuen. Ihre popkulturelle Sozialisation wurde eng von Bands wie Sonic Youth, Meat Puppets und Hole begleitet, was man einigen Songs überdeutlich anhört. Dass sie maximal viele Sprachen der Liebe findet und nutzt, wird dem Überflug, den GÜNER KÜNIER nächstens antritt, nur noch mehr Auftrieb geben.
GÜNER KÜNIER tells stories from different poles, from different ends of the same stories. Often it’s about emancipation, about love, about autonomy. She makes good use of post-punk elements, which in turn meet Riot Grrrl quotations and do not shy away from Krautrock borrowings. Her pop cultural socialisation was closely accompanied by bands like Sonic Youth, Meat Puppets and Hole, which you can hear very clearly in some of the songs. The fact that she finds and uses a maximum of many languages of love will only give more impetus to the overflight that GÜNER KÜNIER will soon embark on.
