SARAH FARINA ist eine internationale DJ, Musikproduzentin, Kuratorin und Aktivistin. Sie veranstaltet regelmäßig mit ihren Freund:innen die interdisziplinäre Eventreihe EMERGENT BASS im Berliner Club MENSCH MEIER, die sich auf das historische Bewusstsein kultureller Kontexte von Musik konzentriert und die afro-diasporischen Einflüsse in der Underground-Clubkultur feiert und zentriert.
Sie selbst bezeichnet ihren Sound als Rainbow Bass – und beschreibt damit ganz unterschiedliche Sounds unabhängig von Genres, die in Vibe und Energie zusammenfinden. Was man hört, ist alles, was man wissen muss.
Und was man bei SARAH FARINAs Sets und Musikproduktionen hören wird, sind nahtlos gemischte basslastige und futuristische Beats mit furchtlosen Streifzügen durch unzählige Klangfarben, dem hardcore continuum und darüber hinaus. Aus dunkel wird hell, Leichtigkeit und Positivität legen sich über schweren Bass und Regeln werden gebrochen.
Außerdem engagiert sie sich mit der Wissenschaftlerin Dr. KERSTIN MEISSNER im gemeinsamen Projekt TRANSMISSION für das Hör- und Sichtbarmachen der politischen Relevanz und Geschichte internationaler Sound-, Club- und Rave-Kultur.

SARAH FARINA is an international DJ, music producer, curator and activist. She regularly hosts the interdisciplinary event series EMERGENT BASS with her friends at the Berlin club MENSCH MEIER, which focuses on the historical awareness of cultural contexts of music and celebrates and centres Afro-Diasporic influences in underground club culture.

She is also involved in the joint project TRANSMISSION with the scientist Dr. KERSTIN MEISSNER to make the political relevance and history of international sound, club and rave culture audible and visible.
